This four-day training provides an in-depth overview of the EFT model. Didactic presentations, case examples and demonstration videos, small group exercises and discussions will provide participants with an engaging learning experience. A further highlight is a live on-site therapy session by one of the trainers (dependent on a referral of a suitable couple by participants).
Participants will learn the theoretical underpinnings of Emotionally Focused Therapy, as well as how to:
- See emotional disorders and relationship distress from an attachment perspective
- Help clients reprocess the emotional responses that maintain dysfunction and relationship distress
- Shape new key interactions and events that build secure connection with others
- Address relationship injuries and consolidate the new, secure bond
