May 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th, 2023
9:00am – 5:00pm (all days)
Location: Canadian Memorial Centre for Peace, 1825 West 16th Ave, Vancouver BC
Facilitated by: Veronica Kallos-Lilly & Yolanda von Hockauf
Prerequisite: Graduate degree in a counselling related field or nearing completion
This four-day training provides an in-depth overview of the EFT model. Didactic presentations, case examples and demonstration videos, small group exercises and discussions will provide participants with an engaging learning experience. A further highlight is a live on-site therapy session by one of the trainers (dependent on a referral of a suitable couple by participants).
Participants will learn the theoretical underpinnings of Emotionally Focused Therapy, as well as how to:
- See emotional disorders and relationship distress from an attachment perspective
- Help clients reprocess the emotional responses that maintain dysfunction and relationship distress
- Shape new key interactions and events that build secure connection with others
- Address relationship injuries and consolidate the new, secure bond
This training is scheduled to be held in person. For safety reasons we are limiting registration to 42 participants. If Covid restrictions are put in place by the BC PHO, training will be switched to an online format.
