More Information on Our Core Trainings
Your local EFT training team is Yolanda von Hockauf and Veronica Kallos-Lilly. Occasionally guest trainers will join us, bringing their unique and fresh perspectives to our core trainings.
4-Day Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy
- Prerequisite: Graduate degree in counselling-related field, or nearing completion
This four-day training provides an in-depth overview of the EFT model. Didactic presentations, case examples and demonstration videos, small group exercises and discussions will provide participants with an engaging learning experience. A further highlight is a live on-site therapy session by one of the trainers (dependent on a referral of a suitable couple by participants).
Participants will learn the theoretical underpinnings of Emotionally Focused Therapy, as well as how to:
- See emotional disorders and relationship distress from an attachment perspective
- Help clients reprocess the emotional responses that maintain dysfunction and relationship distress
- Shape new key interactions and events that build secure connection with others
- Overcome therapeutic impasses and address existential dilemmas
Regular Fee: $1,095.00
Included in the fee is a $50 manual and a collection of journal articles from the International Centre for Excellence in EFT (ICEEFT).
Core Skills Training
- Prerequisite: EFT Externship attended in person
In this small group experience, participants will have the opportunity to share their work throughout the training, with the focus on developing a deeper clinical understanding of the EFT model and the related skills. Through observing and discussing the work of the facilitators and group members, and with the use of role plays, the three stages and nine steps are covered in detail. The tone of the group is one of safety and supportiveness, to optimize learning.
Participants will learn to:
- Use an attachment framework
- Track and deepen emotion in the here and now
- Create bonding events
- Practice the interventions that create change in EFT
Therapists must have an active caseload of couples and be prepared to share their work at least once, in the preferred video format but audio format would be acceptable in certain situations.
Group size is limited to 16.
Fee: $1,800.00
EFT Externships and Advanced Core Skills trainings are designed for mental health professionals and trainees. Participants are required to note their professional affiliation on registration.
